About Chris Plant Mountaineering
I have been climbing for the last 40 years. I started my mountaineering adventures with my local Scout group in Derbyshire and continued to enjoy all of the outdoor activities the scouts offered throughout my younger years. As a teenager and young adult, I progressed to climbing, walking and bouldering in the Gritstone and limestone crags of the Peak District and Yorkshire. I had discovered my passion for all things adventure and took every opportunity to travel to the Alps in Europe, Sierra Nevada in California and the Cascade Mountains in Washington State.
Throughout my adult life I have continued to combine my love of the mountains with education; spending the majority of the last 30 years as a teacher and climber. I have led expeditions to Bolivia, Russia and the Artic amongst other places to share the benefits of being in the outdoors for both body and mind.
